c2c remain most punctual train operator in the UK
National Express train operator c2c has both retained its position at the top of the league table for train punctuality in the UK and equalled its own UK record for trains arriving on time, according to new figures released today.
During February 98.1% of c2c trains arrived at their destination on time under the Public Performance Measure, the government's official standard for rail punctuality. This represents the best performance in the entire country this month, and is more than 7% higher than the UK average punctuality of 91%. Over the past year, a total of 97.5% of c2c trains arrived on time - equalling the all-time British record for train punctuality, which was set by c2c in January.
c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: "We're delighted by these results. Sustaining such punctual performance for so long is only possible thanks to the hard work of all our staff, who are determined to ensure we keep delivering to these highest of standards."
Today's punctuality results are published by Network Rail.
