European recognition for five star c2c
National Express train operator c2c has been awarded top marks in a rigorous assessment of how the company is run.
c2c has been awarded five stars in its Recognised for Excellence assessment, which was carried out by the British Quality Foundation and measured how c2c performs against the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) framework. The assessors examined how well c2c is managed in all areas, from its operations to the way employees are involved in running the business. In the final report c2c was praised in particular for its strong focus on customers and the improvements the company has made in its environmental and community initiatives.
c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: "This is a real badge of honour for c2c. We have focused a lot of energy on this assessment for the last two years, and we're delighted that the drive and commitment of all our employees to making c2c a great business has led to this prestigious recognition."
To achieve its five star status c2c underwent a week-long assessment by two assessors from the British Quality Foundation, who interviewed staff and visited Southend Central and Thorpe Bay stations, and East Ham and Shoeburyness depots.
