‘one’ railway welcomes announcement of Department of Transport rolling stock plans

National Express Group train operator ‘one’ railway today welcomed the Department for Transport’s announcement of its draft rolling stock plans for the period 2009 -2014. The plans include proposals to introduce an extra 188 vehicles on the ‘one’ network to deliver thousands of extra seats for passengers on key routes across the region.

Andrew Chivers, Managing Director for ‘one’ railway said:

“We welcome the proposals outlined by the Department for Transport. We look forward to working with them to formalize the plans that will enable us to secure additional carriages and offer a better service to our passengers.”
