c2c shortlisted for the London Transport Awards

National Express Group’s c2c has been nominated for three prestigious London Transport Awards, results for which will be announced during a ceremony at the end of February in the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane.

Supported by Transport for London, London Councils, London First and London TravelWatch, and in association with Transport Times; the London Transport Awards recognise and reward innovation and outstanding achievement in London’s transport industry.

c2c has been shortlisted in three categories:

Public Transport Operator of the Year;

Most Innovative Transport Project – Public Transport (c2c Goes Green with Regenerative Braking) and

Transport Team/Partnership of the Year – Public Transport (c2c’s East Ham Depot Team).

Julian Drury, MD for c2c commenting on the shortlist said

“We have some strong competition but are very proud of our achievements and are confident in our ability to deliver results and satisfied customers. We have worked really hard this year to deliver the most punctual service for any train operator in London and have achieved continued success with our National Passenger Survey results.

c2c was the first train operator to convert it’s entire fleet of 74 trains to regenerative breaking adopting massive energy savings and our East Ham Depot has worked tirelessly in maintaining a fleet that has an enviable reliability record. We’ll wait eagerly for the announcement on the night”

The Judging panel is made up of key people with a lobbying or professional interest in the railway industry. This year marks the 5th annual awards ceremony for the industry in London and the awards ceremony on -27th February will be hosted by TV and Radio’s Jeremy Vine.

c2c’s sister company, ‘one’ Railway, has also been nominated in the Transport Team/Partnership of the Year – Public Transport category for joint performance improvements with Network Rail.
