‘one’ railway shortlisted for the London Transport Awards

National Express Group’s ‘one’ railway has been shortlisted for two awards at the prestigious London Transport Awards for 2008.

The Awards, which are held in association with Transport Times and with the support of Transport for London, London Councils, London First and London TravelWatch, will be presented on Wednesday 27th February by broadcaster Jeremy Vine - at a ceremony to be held in Central London.

‘one’ railway is shortlisted in the ‘Rail Station of the Year’ category for London Liverpool Street - one of the busiest stations in Europe, around 400,000 people use the station each day to either travel by train or visit the extensive shopping and leisure facilities.

In the ‘Transport Team/Partnership of the Year Public Transport’ category, the partnership between ‘one’ and Network Rail is amongst the nominations for the companies’ joint performance plan improvements which has seen the train service public performance measure (PPM) for ‘one’ improve from 87.5% to 89.8% at the end of 2007.

‘one’ railway’s sister company c2c has received three nominations in the Awards, for ‘Public Transport Operator of the Year’, ‘Most Innovative Transport Project Public Transport’ and in the ‘Transport Team/Partnership of the Year Public Transport’ category.
