Karen raises customer service standards at Alresford
National Express Group’s ‘one’ railway is raising customer service standards at Alresford station on the Colchester to Clacton-on-Sea line with a dedicated member of staff now located at the station to provide customer service, information and sell tickets.
The new and improved ticket office opened at the end of last year and is staffed by Karen Smith who has recently joined the ‘one’ railway team. Open on Mondays to Fridays between 06.40 and 13.15 and equipped with modern TRIBUTE ticket issuing facilities, the office sells most types of tickets, including a full range of season tickets.
In addition to her ticket office duties, Karen is already making her mark at the station by carrying out minor repairs and painting the waiting shelter to help provide customers with a more pleasant environment at the station. And with spring not too far away, Karen is already starting work on the station gardens to help transform their appearance.
Alresford is also part of the ‘one’ railway station adoption scheme and local man and station adopter Frank Belgrove is also playing his part in helping to improve the overall appearance of the station. Station adopters are community-based volunteers who work with the ‘one’ railway team to help improve and care for stations in their particular community.
