Seven Kings station improvements take shape

19 Jun 2008

National Express East Anglia has recently launched a station upgrade plan for Seven Kings station in Essex following consultation with local residents. The improvements are now gaining momentum and progress is being made on a number of initiatives.

David Winder National Express East Anglia’s Business Director for the Metro and Southend route commented:

‘Station improvements at Seven Kings are gaining pace. We have already put in place additional security personnel on a trial basis and redecoration of key areas of the station has commenced. Late in February our new, more robust cleaning schedule began, with daily litter collections and regular cleaning. Now the work on the footbridge has been completed, giving a better first impression of the station. More improvements are to be made throughout 2008.’

The package of improvements National Express East Anglia has so far instigated include:

  • The refurbishment and re-decoration of the footbridge, including the fitment of new window panels, creating a lighter, brighter and more pleasant environment for passengers.
  • A re-decoration programme has commenced at the station.
  • New vivid floral displays in hanging baskets are now in place to create a more cheerful and welcoming station environment.
  • Security personnel, on a trial basis, to patrol the station seven days a week
  • A more robust cleaning and litter collecting schedule, with a cleaner and litter pickers visiting the station seven days a week, and more proactive litter collection.

Mr Ali Hai a representative of local residents and commuters commented:

‘We are all absolutely delighted by the improvements to Seven Kings station and for the enhancements to the customer experience.’
