Recession-busting business train ticket deal targets corporate market

Train operator National Express East Coast is boosting its discount train ticket deal for frequent business travellers to help them combat the recession.

The Business Carnet deal previously offered 10 First or Standard Class fully flexible return tickets for the price of 9, on selected journeys to or from London – giving businesses that need the flexibility of turn-up-and-go travel an opportunity to benefit from a discount worth hundreds of pounds.

The deal has now been boosted further for a limited period to offer 10 tickets for the price of 8 – a 20 per cent saving on the full price of 10 tickets bought separately.

National Express East Coast sales and marketing director Rachel Dawson said: “The carnet offers a good deal for our business customers who often need to travel at the very last minute, without restrictions.

“We know that these are challenging economic times for all our business customers and so we are improving the Carnet offer further to give them a helping hand”.

The improved Business Carnet deal is available until 3 July, and tickets purchased are valid for three months from the date of purchase, potentially extending the benefit to business customers up to the start of October.
