Essex train operators c2c and National Express East Anglia (NXEA) will be operating extra trains to Southend-on-Sea for the ‘Festival of the Air’ airshow on Sunday 24 & Bank Holiday Monday 25 May for the thousands of extra people who will be travelling to the resort for the annual airshow.
On Sunday 24 and Monday 25 May a Sunday frequency of service will operate on NXEA and c2c train services, but with the following exceptions for the airshow:
NXEA train services to Southend Victoria will run every 10 minutes from Shenfield and call at all stations (excluding Prittlewell) to Southend Victoria between 10.30 and 13.40. Additional trains will be on standby to supplement services at the finish of the airshow for customers returning from Southend Victoria as required.
c2c will be providing extra carriages on services to and from Southend Central on both days of the airshow, and with additional trains running during the peak travel periods of late morning and late afternoon between Laindon and Southend Central, and Barking and Southend Central / Shoeburyness.
