National Express East Anglia makes travelling easier for half term

22 May 2009

To help families enjoy the bank holiday and school half term, evening ticket restrictions on National Express East Anglia trains have been lifted, making it easier for people to have day trips to London.

Normally, on Mondays to Fridays, off-peak day return tickets from London Liverpool Street station (for travel from stations outside of the London Travelcard area) are not valid for return travel between 16.29 and 18.34.  However for this spring bank holiday (Monday 25 May) and the school half-term between Tuesday 26 and Friday 29 May, these restrictions will not apply and off peak tickets will be valid for use.

Andrew Goodrum, National Express East Anglia’s Customer Services Director said:  “With many families enjoying a day-out or short-break in London over half-term, we’re pleased to be able to increase the number of evening trains on which off-peak tickets will be valid.  This will help to widen the choice of trains for families and daytrippers returning from London Liverpool Street in the evening.”

With many regular commuters on holiday during school half-term, National Express is pleased to lift evening travel restrictions widening the choice of homeward trains to destinations such as Bishop’s Stortford, Cambridge, Chelmsford, Colchester, Hertford East and Southend Victoria
