c2c has scored top marks in a European-wide assessment of business management.
The journey to Excellence
c2c follows the business management excellence principles set out by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). This model establishes a framework to assess how well a business is run by reviewing the processes that it has established in all areas, from day-to-day operations, to how employees are involved in running the business and the business's contribution to the wider society it operates in.
Companies who follow the EFQM framework undertake a Recognised for Excellence assessment every two years, carried out by the British Quality Foundation (BQF). In c2c's first assessment, in December 2011, c2c was ranked as a four-star organisation - a noticeable success for a first attempt from an organisation new to the EFQM principles.
An important element of the EFQM principles is for a business to assess and refine the processes it has in place to deliver continuous improvement.
Following the feedback from the 2011 EFQM assessment, c2c made changes to its management processes to ensure it had established a balanced approach to all areas of a business, without losing the focus on day-to-day operations that has been our calling card.
Following the latest Recognised for Excellence assessment in December 2013 ranked c2c as a five-star organisation - the top score achievable under the EFQM process.
We are actively working on extending the EFQM approach - or equivalents - across our other divisions.
