Our policies and practices will advance the social, environmental and economic conditions in the communities in which we operate
There are large socio-economic and environment benefits arising from our bus, coach and train services we operate. Our Community value recognises that the biggest contribution we make is through our services themselves although we are not complacent about the need to minimise the impacts that may arise from our operations.
The Global Standards we have set cover:
- Being proactive in the community. We will seek to quantify the benefits that arise form our services. We will continue to support the local communities in which we operate.
- Being a good neighbour. We will consider the impact on the community when making key business decisions and ensure that we respond quickly and appropriately to complaints arising from our site or vehicle operations.
- Care for the environment. We will set quantified performance targets to improve our environmental performance, continue to invest in new technology and look to communicate our environmental credentials more clearly.
We continue to encourage our employees to get involved with fundraising or volunteering in their own communities, by awarding grants through our Employee Charity Panel.
