Alsa offers travel passes at 50% discount to hundreds of destinations

Alsa is supporting the Spanish Government-approved initiative to promote public transport, by offering multi-travel tickets at 50% discount to travel to hundreds of destinations, covered by its transport network, from 1 September.

The travel passes are financed by the Spanish Ministry of Transport and allow travel at 50% of the current price of the travel on more than 1,000 journeys covering the long-haul public services operated by Alsa.

In the regional, urban and metropolitan services operated on behalf of the Autonomous Regions and City Councils, Alsa is selling multi-travel tickets and travel passes with a discount ranging from 30% and 50%, subject to the policies approved by the respective authorities, and according to the measures adopted by the Ministry of Transport.

This initiative will provide public transport services to hundreds of thousands of citizens, particularly to the individuals living in cities and urban areas where there are no railway suburban services and are excluded from the free tickets approved by the government, and where coach services are the only option for mobility in public transport.

Víctor López, Managing Director, Alsa Spain, said: “In Alsa we aim to support many Spanish households, delivering significant savings for families at the beginning of the school term. Commuters will be able to travel to their educational or work places at half price, and at the same time they significantly contribute to the energy-saving measures and encouragement of the public transport approved by the Government”.

How to benefit from the travel passes

Passengers will be able to purchase the ticket passes online in batches of 3, 4 and 10 journeys, by signing up in https://www.alsa.es/alsaplus-login/registro.

These travel passes may be either physical or digital (nominatives) and will be purchased either at the company website and app (https://www.alsa.es/bonos/bono-50-por-ciento) and at the ticket sale kiosks and points of sale enabled at stations.

The discount applicable for each travel pass is applied during the purchase process, subject to the modality and number of journeys, and can be added to the large family discount.

They may be purchased until December 31, 2022, and are valid to travel, at least, until January 31, 2023.

Through this initiative, Alsa aims to attract passengers who previously used a private car in their commuter travels, offering them a cheaper, more sustainable alternative to travel by public transport.
