Take the National Express to Imberbus
04 August 2022 10:30 AM
National Express is providing a dedicated scheduled coach service to this year’s Imberbus following the announcement of another rail strike.
With fears that the iconic event may be postponed, organisers of the event have confirmed that it will still go ahead on Saturday 20 August, thanks to the help of operators including National Express.
The X23 service will take passengers from London Victoria Coach Station to Imber village. Departure is at 08:30 with a pick up in Basingstoke before arrival in the village at 11:45. An additional service will run at 07:30 if there is sufficient demand.
Tickets are available on the National Express website as either travel only (£20 adult or £10 child return) or as a package with admission (£30 adult or £10 child return).
Tom Stables, CEO National Express, said: “Imberbus is a special event on one of the few days that access to the village is allowed. We are really pleased we have been able to step in and run services so that visitors are still able to have this experience.”
Michael Meilton, an Imberbus organiser, said: “We are so grateful to National Express for providing the first ever scheduled coach service to the ghost village of Imber, and allowing people to get to our Imberbus event on a rail strike day. We urge everyone to book early to secure their seats on this special trip.”
