Durham School Services’ General Manager Chester Smith, from Roanoke, Virginia, was recognized with the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. Drum Major for Justice Award at the 26th Annual Holiday Luncheon organized by the Roanoke Chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). This prestigious honor is awarded to individuals for their contributions to the Roanoke community in the spirit of the esteemed civil rights leader, Dr. King.

“Chester is dedicated to the Roanoke community,” said Durham School Services’ Regional Manager John (Hale) Driver. “Since becoming the general manager in Roanoke, Chester has planned and attended several community events, and he has greatly contributed to our partnership with Roanoke City Public Schools.”
