c2c tops punctuality league table
National Express train operator c2c was the most punctual train operator in the last month, according to new official figures published by Network Rail today.
98.2% of trains were on time in the four weeks to Saturday 25th May - more than any other train operator in the country. This means that over the past year 97.3% of c2c trains arrived on time - also the best performance in the country, and more than 6% better than the UK average of 91.0%.
c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: "We are proud that the hard work and dedication of all c2c employees has delivered these excellent results. Earlier this month the Department for Transport extended c2c's franchise until September 2014, and our top priority is to ensure our customers continue to enjoy a punctual train service."
These Public Performance Measure results published by Network Rail today are the government's official measure of punctuality in the rail industry.
