Explore Birmingham's green space by bus during National Parks Week
Visitors flocking to Birmingham’s green space in celebration of National Parks Week are being encouraged to consider the environmental impact of car travel and opt for the bus instead.
National Express West Midlands has created an online guide called ‘picnic in the parks’ encouraging families to explore the regions’ open space by bus, and help reduce the amount of carbon and congestion generated by cars.
The ‘picnics in the park’ guide is available at www.nationalexpress.com/westmidlands and features travel information to the regions’ most popular green spaces including Sutton, Cannon Hill, Sheldon and Handsworth parks.
To help make summer days out more affordable National Express is also offering unlimited family travel around the West Midlands by bus for just £6.50 per day with a Family Daysaver.
National Parks Week is an annual event organised by the National Parks Authority. This year it runs from 27 July to 2 August. For more information visit: http://www.nationalparks.gov.uk/nationalparksweek
