Gardens set to flourish at Ely
National Express East Anglia’s Ely station is receiving some extra care from the train operator’s new Area Station Manager for Ely, Alan Neville.
Whilst out visiting his new patch, Alan Neville, a keen gardener, recognised the benefits a little extra attention would bring to the station approach. The work he undertook included clearing the shrubbery adjacent to the station approach roadway, pruning unruly branches and some improvement work to the flower beds.
The aim was to match and complement work already undertaken on the West side of the station and improve the appearance of the station approach, to create a more welcoming environment.
Local resident Alan, spent his time clearing and improving the flower beds, so the shrubs will flourish once again.
Speaking of the improvement work he had undertaken Alan said:
‘Maintaining the station gardens to a high standard is important in helping to create a pleasant and welcoming environment for our customers.’
Alan has already received favourable comments from a local group regarding the work he has undertaken.
