National Express East Coast says 'book now' for Christmas and New Year travel
Train operator National Express East Coast is encouraging rail customers to book tickets as soon as possible for travel over the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The company opens its reservations system tomorrow (Friday 2 October) for advance bookings on National Express East Coast services up to and including Saturday, 2 January 2010, and is expecting a busy period as customers take advantage of bargain advance purchase fares – with the best discounts available for online bookings made through its website, www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com.
Customers registered for email alerts through the website will have received a special message to let them know the popular advance discount fares go on sale from tomorrow.
National Express East Coast managing director Susan Goldsmith said: “Our advance purchase fares offer excellent value for those who plan ahead, especially for those buying our lowest priced Standard Advance fares at www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com. These benefit from a ten per cent additional discount when booked through our website.
“Now is the time to be thinking about buying tickets and reserving seats for travel in the weeks before Christmas and New Year”.
As usual, train services are expected to be especially busy in the week before Christmas, and customers are being encouraged to make reservations to guarantee a seat. Seat reservations are free of charge for advance purchase ticket holders.
Note to editors:
As in past years, there will be no National Express East Coast services operating on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
