National Express West Midlands announce improvements to Bristol and Pershore Road routes
From 22 February National Express West Midlands will be making changes to bus routes along Bristol and Pershore roads. The changes will further improve service reliability and also help minimise disruption to customers during major road works on Bristol Road.
Services 61, 62 and 63, which operate along the Bristol Road will run on a slightly revised timetable to provide a regular three to four minute bus service (Monday to Friday daytime) between the city centre and Northfield. In addition, services 62 and 63 will now provide a regular seven to eight minute service (Monday to Friday daytime) between Northfield and Longbridge Island.
Service 45 and 47, which run along Pershore Road every 10 minutes, will be given more time to complete their journeys meaning the service will be less prone to delays. Service 45A, which is a peak time only service between Birmingham, Pershore Road and Rednal, will no longer be available due to low patronage.
Simon Mathieson, Area Manager for National Express West Midlands, said:
“The changes made to services 61, 62, 63, 45 and 47 are intended to simplify how we work and ensure customers along Bristol and Pershore road have a regular, reliable bus service.
New technology along the routes will allow us to track buses through a GPS signal and respond quickly to incidents. We also have appointed a dedicated route manager along the Bristol road to answer customer queries and monitor bus times to ensure we provide the best service possible.”
The new timetables will be available from 9th February at travel shops and online at www.travelwm.co.uk . Details will also be displayed at selected bus stops.”
