All c2c stations now staffed from first train to last
Rail staff will be more visible and on hand to help local rail passengers as National Express train operator c2c now staffs all stations throughout the day.
From today, every c2c station will be staffed from before the first train of the day arrives until after the final service has departed, every day of the week. Rail staff will be on hand to sell tickets, provide assistance and answer questions in person.
Until now only the busiest c2c stations were staffed on this basis, with ticket offices closing at some smaller stations in the early afternoon.
c2c Managing Director Julian Drury said: "We are doing this because many passengers have told us they really value having a human presence at the station. Whether our customers want to buy a ticket, ask a query, or just be reassured that they are not alone, we will have someone there.
"This is one of several steps we are taking to improve our passengers' journey, from a new timetable that provides a seat to more people travelling the longest distances, to discounted tickets and free Wi-Fi."
c2c is the first franchised rail company in the UK to introduce staffing at every station throughout the day.
