The National Express Employee Charity Panel recently held their third quarterly meeting and as a result has donated over £3,000 to 15 different charities and groups actively supported by the group’s UK employees.
The Employee Charity Panel supports employees in their own charitable or voluntary work and is made up of staff from around the National Express UK businesses who meet quarterly to review employee applications and vote on which good causes they will support.
Successful applications in the latest quarter include a £500 donation to RNLI which is in addition to £510 already raised during a charity football match involving 32 c2c employees. Tammy Hollis, a Personal Assistant who works in the head office for the National Express UK Coach business, secured a further £150 donation for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity after completing her first 10k race, personally raising over £495 for her charity. A £100 donation has also been given to West Midlands charity Family Equip, following an application from Mark Flanagan who works for the group’s bus business and had raised over £500 after completing a three peaks challenge with his two sons.
Other charities and groups that received donations in this latest quarter are:
- Russell’s Hall Hospital Neonatal Unit
- Cancer Research UK
- Fast Aid
- Manchester Dogs Home
- Project Welcome at PJs
- Macmillan Cancer Support
- British Heart Foundation
- Household Cavalry Foundation
- Mornington Boys FC
- Essex Air Ambulance
- Kean’s Children’s Fund
Year to date, the National Express Employee Charity Panel has donated over £10,000 to nearly 45 different charities or groups supported by National Express Group employees in the UK.
