Toy Story 4 characters Woody and Buzz Lightyear with the toys found across the National Express network
Working with Disney UK, the UK’s largest coach operator has released a series of photographs depicting the adventures of these lost toys with the ultimate aim of reuniting the toys with their young owners.
The campaign was inspired by the upcoming storyline of Toy Story 4 - the latest movie in the hugely popular Disney and Pixar franchise – which sees Woody reunited with his long-lost friend Bo Peep.
The images, shot by renowned British toy photographer Chris Rose, are being shared with national and regional media and via the National Express social channels to try and reach the toys’ families.
“We pride ourselves on being a customer-focused business,” said Chris Hardy, Managing Director of National Express. “To reunite children with their cherished toys would make for a very special National Express toy story.”
“I’m a huge fan of the Toy Story films,” said photographer Chris Rose. “I wanted to capture that spirit of adventure and playfulness in the images. I thought about what these toys might be doing to pass the time until they are reunited with their owners and, just like Woody, Buzz and co, I imagined they’d be having fun and exploring the world rather than sitting around and waiting to be found.”
More information and a gallery of all the toys can be found on the National Express website at www.nationalexpress.com/toysreunited. Anyone who recognises one of the toys can get in touch with National Express by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and stating which journey the toy was lost on.
Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. So when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (voice of Tony Hale), declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voice of Annie Potts). After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries.
Directed by Josh Cooley (“Riley’s First Date?”), and produced by Jonas Rivera (“Inside Out,” “Up”) and Mark Nielsen (associate producer “Inside Out”), Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” releases in UK cinemas on 21st June 2019.
