An independent study conducted by transport watchdog Passenger Focus shows that bus services in the West Midlands have improved more than in any other part of the country.
Its figures show that 86% of our bus passengers in the West Midlands were satisfied with their overall service in 2013, up by 7% from 79% in 2012. This shows that our partnership with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM - formerly Centro) is delivering real results. We are pleased to see significant improvements in areas such as safety, driver helpfulness, bus punctuality and cleanliness, as these are areas where we the business has focused its efforts. We are making a difference and our customers are noticing the improvements.
The survey also goes on to show an increase in all of the key satisfaction indicators during 2013 with punctuality at 73% (up from 64%); journey time on bus 86% (was 81%); helpfulness and attitude of bus driver 64% (was 55%) and value for money 62% (was 50%). Concern about anti-social behaviour was also down from 17% in 2012 to 10% in 2013.
