The Values Awards programme was launched, right across the National Express Group during 2012. The awards now enable us to celebrate the work of teams and individuals in each of our businesses who are bringing our Values to life.
These awards give all of our people the opportunity to nominate their colleagues and work mates for a Values award. Anyone receiving a nomination receives a 'well done' letter. Each year twelve local teams or individuals from each business are then rewarded with cash prizes for their personal support of our Safety, Community, People, Customer and Excellence activities.
These local awards events also choose a number of local business winners in each Value category and they then go through to our Annual Group Awards event which is now held in London each Spring. At this event the overall winners of our Group Values Awards are chosen, with each of them receiving a cash prize and a trophy.
Commenting on his 2012 Group Values Award for People, Georgi Shopov from c2c rail said, "It feels great to have been recognised both by my business and Group with this award. I think I was only doing my job but the team here at East Ham Depot are all really proud that this award recognises what we as a team have achieved."
Julie Mackel from UK Coach, who won the 2012 Group Values Award for Customer said, "At the awards I felt just like a princess and was treated like a star. To be recognised in this way is simply outstanding. My friends are all so amazed at what we do to recognise our people."
And finally, Bryan Bannister from our Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, won the 2012 Group Value of Values Award and added, "These awards have a unique ability to be able to reach out and touch, recognise and reward people working in every part of our business."
