Our groundbreaking Routes to Work partnership with JobCentre Plus is helping to ensure that there are more women and young people in our employment, through the 1,700 new job opportunities we have created over the last three years.
Peter Coates, Managing Director of National Express West Midlands with Chris Grayling MP, (then) Minister for Employment
In its first year Routes to Work brought 860 new people into our business, lowered the average age of our 5,500 workforce by four years and increased the number of women behind the wheel of our buses.
The agreement is the first of its kind signed by a major employer and JobCentre Plus, and delivered a host of industry firsts including recruitment roadshows, pre-interview training and the country's first Sector Based Work Academy for driving skills.
